It has been one hundred years since The Great Exile that saw most of humanity fleeing to their ancestral homeworld. Now Aphrodisia is in more chaos than ever with a great multi-factional demon civil war all vying to call themselves the one (and only!) Empress of the Demon Empire.
After spending the past century living as a guest of a mysterious Enchantress, far from the conflict on the mainland, you now return to the lands you once called home. Find loyal companions who will stay by your side as you seek your own destiny in the chaos. Seek money and adventure. Fight battles against enemies in strategic hexagonal-grid battlefields. Transform yourself, your companions, and your followers to suit particular needs for the party--and be transformed by the world's other inhabitants in turn! Travel off the beaten paths and seek your quests where and when you want. But be careful, there many ways for you and your friends to fall victim to the magic, mischief, and malice that so saturates the continent...

Eventually, yes. In fact that's how we're letting people play it early via Steam beta keys. The store page will hopefully go live in the next month or two.

I'm handing out beta keys for Steam. Would you like one? Uploading on Itch is a bit of a slower process and there's still various major bugs we need to fix first before we want the game out for a much wider audience.
yeah id appreciate that and that's understandable it be a shame if a bug got thru and ruined the hard work put into this if it got posted for everyone id be sad to see that as your games have been really good thus far

This looks awesome, I love it when the transformation sticks around, regardless if its a boon or a curse. Though I have to ask, are full anthropomorphic transformations going to be in this game, all the pics just show anime-style humans with animal ears ears more or less.

No problem! That art has been done a while but we are still working on the quest to integrate it into the game itself, so you can't attain that form without the use of the debug console just yet.

No, that will not be possible for this game.
Will be watching this one for sure, ticks off a lot of boxes for me. Has a strong Portals of Phereon vibe but with more transformation emphasis.

A tactics game AND the transformations being potentially strategic assets instead of just bad ends and then gone? Awesome. I enjoy a chance to have the transformations stick around and be potential boons and/or complications instead of just being a picture and gone.

seems amazing! I'm always hoping to see a game where transformations are not only bad ends.
That was one of the largest complaints of the previous game so hope we'll do it justice this time around.

The current thinking is to keep it free while it's still early in development, and depending how Patreon backing goes, it may turn into a paid product in the future when it's more mature.

Based on the description, it sounds like transformations will have some tactical elements or benefits to them, rather than just removing or disabling party members. Is that accurate? If so, that's very exciting, something I've wanted to see more of in games like this.
That is correct. Many of the transformations will allow you to keep those transformed in the party with strengths and weaknesses according to that new form, particularly in the new combat system.
I am (NOT) waiting calmly for this. this looks like it will be a boat load of fun and i really hope it we can have at least half of the changes that can happen in the game before in this one
Eventually there will be, though the first game was developed over several years, and this game has been worked on for the past seven months and with only myself as the writer so far, so it'll take a long time to catch up to a similar level of content as the original.
That's part of why the first release here is going to be "earliest" alpha and free for everyone for a long while during development. In its current state it has potentially up to several hours of gameplay with several transformations, though three of the four quests in the game currently take place on the starting / tutorial region.
I’m slightly confused so humanity is coming back from earth to try and settle Aphrodisia again, or are they humans that didn’t make the exile in time and have survived since?
Not all humans ended up being captured, as many of the epilogues in the previous game hinted at. Some were able to establish remote villages hidden from the demons. Why the demons were unable to track the remainder of humanity down completely is part of the plot of the sequel.
Loved the previous games so I'm excited to see what happens in this one. Also, I completely agree with Frogge.
